Beginner Drum Lessons
Drum is a cool music instrument used in all sorts of songs, mostly rock songs. Learning how to play the drums takes time, and having tutorial lessons will be very helpful in learning it fast. Here are some tips for you beginners to be able to learn how to play the basics of the drums the easy way.
Tip # 1. First thing you have to learn in playing the drums is having a beat.
A very fundamental requirement of learning the drums is to have a beat. This will make learning it quicker.
Getting the hands and feet to coordinate enough to play the drums is sometimes challenging for some people. Regular practice and exercising your hands and feet may be a good way to learn coordination between them.
An example of these exercises is by try having a beat on your foot, left or right which ever you prefer, then by maintaining the beat one at a time insert beats on your hand by tapping the table or anything where you can create a rhythm. This exercise can help greatly in your problem with coordination and does not necessarily need a drum set.
Tip #2. Having a great hand and feet coordination takes you to the next stage, learning the proper timing.
Timing is a very important component of music. The drums are the ones which dictate the rhythm of a song and timing is an essential factor. Relaxed grip on the sticks and cautious banging will help to get a proper timing. Pretty soon, practice and knowledge of the rhythm and beat of the song will make you a good drummer.
Tip #3. Many people are unaware that drums also have chords.
Drums do have chords, tabs and musical notes too. It will be easier to learn them by taking lessons or hiring a tutor. Understanding the notes is like understanding the song itself. These will be great helps in learning a song.
Tip #4. The last tip that I could give you is constant practice.
Anybody eager to learn how to play the drums needs practice at least once a day. It is not an easy instrument to learn how to play so constant practice is a great help for you to learn it fast. Beginners who plan to be good at this instrument may need a lot of time but don’t worry, the results will also be very achieving after.
Every session in a drum lessons course is very important for you to be able to learn in playing it. Having your own drum set will also be a great factor but we understand that it is not a cheap instrument that can be afforded.
Improvising a homemade drum set might be a good idea just to have an equipment to practice on. Well if you really are interested to learn this awesome instrument, you should give time, effort, hard work and dedication. After the beginner’s drum stage you’ll find yourself learning more on your own.
