Buying hockey sticks: Wood vs Composite?
As a hockey goalie, I do not put much thought into buying a skater's stick, but I would like one to play around with. Right now I have a composite one-piece Easton syngergy stick used by NHL defenseman Olli Malmivaara (if that even means anything)
Now, i'm sort of confused. Hockey commentators say wood sticks are better than composite because they last longer, how is that true? My blade gets chipped and worn down much faster than a composite blade...
What i'm wondering is:
Do wood sticks have ANY advantages over composite sticks?
so wood sticks are built stronger but have a worse shot?
